How to Root Samsung Galaxy J5
The Galaxy J5 is a new mid-range addittion to Samsung's Galaxy J series
which was released on June 2015. The phones comes with a 5.0" Super
AMOLED display with a resolution of 720x1280 (HD) powered by a Quad-core
1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, 8/16GB RAM, 1.5GB RAM, 13MP rear camera and
comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed.
This guide will show you how to succesfully root your Galaxy J5 which will allow you to use applications like Titanium Backup, Root Explorer, Xposed framework, etc.
Step 2: Power off your phone.
Step 3: After your phone turns off, you need to boot into Download mode. In order to do that, you need to hold the Volume down + Home + Power buttons simultaneously.
Step 4: After booting into Download mode, you may get this screen.
Step 5: Press the Volume up button to get your phone ready for flashing. Do not worry if you do not get into the screen showed above, your phone might directly be ready for flashing. Now you need to run the Odin program from the package that you extracted.
Step 6: After starting up Odin, connect your phone to your computer and wait for it to recognize it. After a few seconds, you should see your phone being recognized in one of the ID:COM boxes as shown in this picture:
Step 7: Click on the PDA button and locate the CF-Auto-Root.tar file that you got from the package that you extracted.
Step 8: Click on the Start button to begin the flashing process.
Step 9: After the flashing is complete, you should see a green box saying PASS!
Now you are free to disconnect your phone and download the Root Checker app from the Google Play store
to make sure that your Galaxy J5 managed to succesfully get root.

Step 1: Download the appropriate package depending on your phone model to your computer and extract it. You should get a .tar file along with the program Odin.Step 2: Power off your phone.
