Oscars 2016: Kesha thanks Lady Gaga, Joe Biden
Kesha praised Lady Gaga and Vice President Joe Biden following the singer’s emotional performance of “Til It Happens to You” at the Oscars on Sunday night.
“Thank u @ladygaga and VP @JoeBiden for bringing attention to sexual assault at the Oscars,” Kesha tweeted. (Biden introduced Gaga’s performance and encouraged viewers to pledge against sexual assault at ItsOnUs.org.) “It hits very close to my heart for obvious reasons,” Kesha added.
Kesha’s currently in the midst of a legal battle against producer Dr. Luke, who she’s accused of sexual assault. Dr. Luke has denied Kesha’s claims. “I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her,” he posted last week via Twitter. “It’s sad that she would turn a contract negotiation into something so horrendous and untrue. But I feel confident when this is over the lies will be exposed and the truth will prevail…”

Lady Gaga has been one of Kesha’s most vocal supporters. She tweeted at the singer before the Oscars, writing, “I’ll be thinking of u 2nite. This is not over we’ll stand by u until you are free to live a HAPPY life. Everyone deserves that.”
